'21' singer given the title Miss Adele Adkins MBE by Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace

Adele picked up her MBE at Buckingham Palace earlier today (December 19). See the footage above.

The singer was given the title Miss Adele Adkins MBE by Prince Charles after being named in the Queen's Birthday Honours list for services to the music industry. The footage above has no audio but shows Adele chatting to Prince Charles and laughing uproariously as she walks away.

Adele joins fellow musician PJ Harvey as well as broadcaster Aled Jones and author Joanne Harris who are also receiving 'Most Excellent Order of the British Empire' titles this year.

Adele was awarded an Oscar for Best Original Song earlier in February for 'Skyfall', the latest James Bond movie theme song. She also bagged her ninth Grammy for Best Pop Solo Performance for 'Set Fire To The Rain' the same month.

The 25-year-old's second album '21' was released in 2011 and has since topped the charts in more than 30 countries, holding on to the UK Offical Album Chart top spot for 23 weeks after its release. Selling 28 million copies worldwide, the album has been named Amazon's best-selling album of all time and has gone platinum in the UK 16 times.
