Michael K. Williams, the actor best known for portraying Baltimore gunslinger Omar Little on the HBO drama "The Wire," has signed on to play deceased Wu-Tang Clan rapper Ol' Dirty Bastard in a forthcoming film titled "Dirty White Boy."
According to Deadline, the drama will focus on Jarred Weisfeld, a former VH1 intern-turned-manager, and his experiences alongside the rapper. Joaquin Baca-Asay is making his feature film directorial debut, and Lars Knudsen, Jay Van Hoy and Tod Hagopian are set to produce.

"This felt to us like 'Risky Business' and '8 Mile,' with equal elements of darkness, humor, and humanity," say Knudsen and Van Hoy in a statement.
Ol' Dirty Bastard (whose real name was Russell Jones) came to prominence as the most unhinged member of the Wu-Tang Clan in the mid-90s, and released two solo albums before his 2004 death of a drug overdose. Along with his starring role on "The Wire," Williams has scored supporting roles on "Boardwalk Empire" and films like "Brooklyn's Finest" and "Life During Wartime."
