Robbie Williams tops Official Record Store Chart

December 19, 2013 16:17

'Swings Both Ways' rises to Number One spot in independent record shop sales

Robbie Williams' 'Swings Both Ways' has topped this week's Official Record Store Chart.

The album beat off competition from One Direction and Gary Barlow to land the top spot. Launched as part of last year's Record Store Day, the Official Record Store Chart reflects sales in the UK's independent record shops.

Elsewhere in the Top 10, Mumford & Sons' 'Babel' is at Nine, while former Number One Jake Bugg's 'Shangri La' lands at 10. The only new entry in this week's chart come from Toy at Number Five with their second album 'Join The Dots'.

The chart is made up of sales of albums from around 100 independent record retailers who participate in Record Store Day UK. The full Top 40 features every week in the new-look NME.
