Organiser promises "a collaborative and celebratory stage performance" from French duo

Daft Punk will perform at the Grammy Awards next year.

The French duo will perform material from their album 'Random Access Memories' live for the first time at the January 26 ceremony, which takes place at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles. Daft Punk are nominated for five awards on the night, including the highly coveted Record Of The Year.

Speaking about what will be Daft Punk's first televised performance since 2008, Grammys Executive Producer Ken Ehrlich tells Rolling Stone that fans can expect "a collaborative and celebratory stage performance that honors their multi-nominated music." Daft Punk's last TV performance came at the Grammys in 2008, when they played alongside Kanye West on his song 'Stronger'.

"We learned that because they had such a good experience with us when they appeared with Kanye in 2008, they were happy to discuss a performance on this year's show," Ehrlich adds. "Conversations took place over a period of a couple of months, and finally they agreed to be a part of this year's telecast."

Lorde, James Blake, Tame Impala, Disclosure and The National are amongst the artists to receive nominations for the 56th annual Grammy Awards. Click hereto see the full list of nominees.

McCartney, Houston, Dylan lead Grammy Hall of Fame inductees

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Music by Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Elton John and late singers Whitney Houston and James Brown will be inducted into the 2013 Grammy Hall of Fame, The Recording Academy said on Wednesday.

Paul McCartney & Wings' 1973 album "Band on the Run," long credited with reigniting McCartney's career following the Beatles' split in 1970, was one of the 27 new inductees into the Grammy Hall of Fame, on display at the Grammy Museum in downtown Los Angeles.

Houston's self-titled 1985 debut album was also named an inductee, following the singer's sudden death aged 48 in February this year. Australian hard-rock band AC/DC's top-selling 1980 "Back in Black" album was also named a new entry.

The Recording Academy, which also runs the Grammy awards, picks songs and albums from all genres that are at least 25 years old, with either "qualitative or historical significance" to be considered annually for the Grammy Hall of Fame by a committee.

"Memorable for being both culturally and historically significant, we are proud to add (the 2013 inductees) to our growing catalog of outstanding recordings that have become part of our musical, social and cultural history," The Recording Academy President and CEO Neil Portnow said in a statement.

As well as albums, the Grammy Hall of Fame also includes songs of historic and cultural significance and the inductees for 2013 see a range of classic American songs.

Iconic Dylan song "The Times They Are A-Changing" from 1964, R&B singer Ray Charles' 1961 tune "Hit the Road Jack," Rat Pack star Frank Sinatra's 1980 "Theme from 'New York, New York'", and 'Godfather of soul' James Brown's 1965 classic "I Got You (I Feel Good)" were all honored.

Other 2013 inductees include Elton John's 1970 self-titled second album and American debut, Billy Joel's 1973 hit "The Piano Man" and Willie Mae "Big Mama" Thornton's 1953 R&B classic "Hound Dog," later covered by Elvis Presley.

Taylor Swift to co-host Grammy nominations in Nashville

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Country-pop star Taylor Swift will co-host the Grammy nominations live on television from Nashville, the capital of country music, the Recording Academy said on Monday.

Swift, 22, who has won six Grammy awards, will join rapper-actor LL Cool J to announce nominees in some of the major categories during a one-hour live telecast on December 5, featuring performances from country artist Luke Bryan and pop-rockers Maroon 5.

The singer is currently on a touring blitz to promote her latest album, "Red", and has become an awards show favorite, most recently premiering her new single at the MTV Video Music Awards in September.

Swift's addition to the roster is part of the Grammy organization's celebration of country music this year, moving the nominations concert from Los Angeles to Nashville, home to the Grand Ole Opry and dozens of recording studios that have spawned artists such as Swift, Carrie Underwood and Lady Antebellum.

Organizers began televising the nominations in a live show five years ago in a bid to boost TV viewership for the annual Grammy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles in February. This year, 39.9 million viewers tuned in to see British singer Adele sweep the awards with six major wins.
