New channel will focus on international and European football
David Beckham has helped launch new channel Sky Sports 5 in a new advert you can see below.
Sky Sports 5 will focus on European and international football, broadcasting qualifying games for UEFA Euro 2016, plus matches from the UEFA Champions League, La Liga in Spain, Copa del Rey and the Dutch Eredivisie.
The advert sees Beckham testing new sports technology and discussing both drones and different cameras before settling on Sky Sports 5. It will air on terrestrial TV this Thursday (June 12) during the first advert break in ITV's coverage of Brazil vs Croatia match in the World Cup.
"It's fantastic news that Sky Sports is dedicating a channel to European and International football," says Beckham. "I'll definitely be watching to see how the home nations get on in the qualifiers for 2016, and how English teams get on in next season's Champions League.
Sky Sports 5 will be available to existing Sky customers as well as Virgin Media users. The channel launches officially on August 12.
