Breaking: Multiple Urban Commuters Found Listening to White Earbuds...

Dude I don't know if you've actually used the newer apple headphones, but they are really good headphones for $30. Sure, if I wanted to blow over $100 there are lots of good options. But i keep these in a pocket, they get beat up, and they get lost left behind too often to buy expensive ones. Furthermore, unless you like overly-bass filled music, they are extremely detailed. Maybe its the MP3 files you are listening to that sound like crap, they all do... don't blame the headphones. And FYI I own a really expensive high end home stereo and find that once you are ruining music via mp3, it doesn't help to use some brand of headphones that accentuates the bass further, making the music even worse and more poorly balanced than it was originally...

SEOUL | Wed Mar 27, 2013 1:17am EDT

SEOUL (Reuters) - South Korean rapper Psy wants his fans to turn up in white at his April concert where he will launch a new song that he hopes will cement the success of his "Gangnam Style" Youtube hit.

"See this pic and let's be white on 0413", Psy tweeted on his @psy_oppa Twitter feed on Wednesday, referring to the April 13 concert to be held in the South Korean capital of Seoul.

The chubby rapper, who shot to fame with over a billion Youtube hits in 2012, subsequently poses in a variety of white clothing, ranging from a spacesuit to tennis whites and even a bridal gown and skimpy figure-skating dress.

His stylist says the 35-year old is more likely to reprise a concert style based on the suit used in "Gangnam Style" than anything more racy.

Psy has not yet revealed what song he will release.

Fashion Week NYC: Alicia Keys Wore White to Edun, A$AP Rocky Watched Alexander Wang

Despite the tornado warning, Saturday (Sept. 8) at New York Fashion Week saw some of the hottest collections and front row dwellers yet. Keep your eyes on The Hook to find out which trends and beats took over the runway each day and see where stars like Alicia Keys, Natasha Bedingfield, Lil' Kim and A$AP Rocky spent NYFW.

More NYFW: Estelle Sits Front Row at BCBG, Sam Ronson Spins at CR

Edun

Edun, the label founded by U2 rocker Bono and his wife, stitched together a sweet and sour spring collection Saturday at NYFW. Created in 2005, the hip young label was founded to promote change through a trading relationship with Africa. At first glance, the new spring line appears soft and welcoming, but then stings with a sour bite. Delicate fabrics like silk and chiffon are juxtaposed with dark cargo slacks and structured utility vests.

Sitting front row was Alicia Keys, who jetted over to NYFW after her dazzling performance at the VMAs Thursday night. Keys stayed on trend in oversized round shades, a billowing white blouse and white pants detailed with a black racing stripe. R.E.M. vocalist Michael Stipe was also front row to support Bono, wearing an all-white look. He accented the look with a blue and red checkered shirt and glasses with orange lenses.

Mara Hoffman

What is gray, gold and tight all over? Lil' Kim's outfit at the Mara Hoffman spring 2013 show. The controversial rapper attended the show in clothes that contrasted Hoffman's energetic and bright collection. Kim missed the mark in a gold ankle-length dress and white shirt under a skin tight gray vest. "My outfit is Ralph Lauren & my shoes are Versace today for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week," Lil' Kim tweeted Saturday afternoon. Her fashion blunder was a bit of a let down, especially because Buffalo, N.Y. native Mara Hoffman created such a sweet, tropical, playful look for spring 2013.

Jill Stuart

As DJ Brendan Fallis was spinning a medley of Niki & the Dove, Lykke Li, and Ladyhawke, a feminine spring fantasy blossomed on the runway at Jill Stuart's show. White, peach, nude and teal colors took form on ladylike lace, sequin and silk dresses. Theophilus London sat front row, watching models strut down the runway in Stuart's subtly sexy lingerie-inspired collection. London brought his unique fashion swagger to the runway, rocking a dapper white shirt, red pants, black wide-rimmed fedora and his own design of limited-edition Del Toro slippers.

Alexander Wang

Songs by Baauer, Jay Fay & Ra Cailum, and DJ Sliink played as an unrestricted bondage-tinged collection ruled the catwalk. Alexander Wang threw an S&M rave at his spring 2013 show, where the attire consisted of white boudoir-inspired leather creations decorated with cut-out racing stripes and laser-cut flourishes.

Rapper A$AP Rocky brought some swagger to the show's front row in a black suede and leather Alexander Wang shirt, dark jeans, a backwards black cap and gold accessories. Die Antwoord frontwoman Yo Landi Vi$$er added some edgy flamboyance to the front row in a mask of white netting under a black hoodie. Vi$$er collaborated with Wang last year for a spring 2012 campaign video.

Christian Siriano

Classical tracks by Huw Tregelles Williams played as pale pink tulle creations and ripe yellow leather dresses strutted down the runway at Christian Siriano's spring 2013 show. The untucked ballet theme was a bit lighter than past Siriano collections and was truly a breath of fresh air.

Singer-songwriter Natasha Bedingfield sat front row in a black Christian Siriano dress with leather bodice and slicked back hair. Her makeup was minimal -- just a sweep of smoky gray eyeshadow. "I loved the collection," Bedingfield told Billboard after the show. "The music was a perfect accent to the line -- dramatic and beautiful. I can definitely see myself wearing this collection."

Rebecca Taylor

Katharine McPhee sat front row at Rebecca Taylor's spring 2013 show as breezy lavender and coral-colored dresses and tops filled the runway. The former "American Idol" contestant and current "Smash" star was dressed quite unseasonably in all-black jumper. Taylor's spring looks nodded to the florescent and feminine aesthetic of the '80s, as models walked to tunes by MFSB and the Salsoul Orchestra.

LONDON | Sun Apr 29, 2012 2:10pm EDT

LONDON (Reuters) - Former White Stripes frontman Jack White's debut solo album 'Blunderbuss' knocked Adele's '21' off the top of Britain's charts on Sunday, and Carly Rae Jepsen managed to keep a new single from Calvin Harris from the No. 1 spot.

Soul singer-songwriter Adele's album has been a fixture near the top of Britain's charts for more than a year, and U.S. magazine Time recently named her among the world's 100 most influential people in 2011 - an accolade not received by Britain's prime minister, David Cameron.

However, she lost the top spot this week to the blues-influenced 'Blunderbuss' by Jack White, who found fame with the White Stripes until the band split in February 2011, the Official Charts Company said.

Singers Lana Del Rey and Nicki Minaj traded places to stand third and fourth respectively, while Rufus Wainwright's album 'Out of the Game' was a new entry at No. 5.

In the singles chart, Canadian Idol talent show contestant Carly Rae Jepsen remained at No. 1 with 'Call Me Maybe', which has sold 434,000 copies to date and is on track to be one of 2012's top-selling records.

Scottish singer-songwriter Calvin Harris, who produced Rihanna's 'We Found Love', was in second place with 'Let's Go', which features U.S. R&B singer Ne-Yo. It was the only new entry in this week's top 40 singles chart.

White Stripes Reunion? 'Only If We Were Bankrupt,' Says Jack White

by RJ Cubarrubia, N.Y.  |   March 22, 2012 5:45 EDT

Detroit rocker Jack White has revealed that he will only reform the White Stripes if they were to hit bankruptcy.

Speaking to NME, White called a reunion "a really sad thing" if it were to happen. Despite the White Stripes success, and his former marriage to only bandmate Meg White, Jack White expressed a severe reluctance and unwillingness to reunite the band.

"I would probably say absolutely not. Absolutely no chance. I couldn't see any reason to ever do that," said White. "I'm not the kind of person that would retire from baseball and come out of retirement the next year."

Jack White To Release First Solo Album, 'Blunderbuss,' in April

"If we were forced to change our mind about that, I can only imagine the reason being if we went bankrupt or really needed the cash, which would be a really sad thing," he continued. "I would probably be issuing an apology along with the announcement of the show dates."

Jack White is set to release his debut solo album "Blunderbluss" on April 24 via Third Man Records and will kick off a US tour on May 15 in Nashville, Tenn.

NEW YORK (TheWrap.com) - With Twitter becoming indispensable for news and politics, the Washington Post has climbed aboard the speeding train, launching a new metric for tracking presidential candidates -- @MentionMachine.

@MentionMachine monitors Twitter and other media outlets for the number of times a candidate is mentioned, thus tracking his or her position in the national conversation. In other words, forget about the antiquated metrics like polling or endorsements and go straight to the source.

And if Twitter endorses a Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber ticket? So be it.

In introducing the new app, the Post showcases all the ways it can be used to evaluate how engaged readers are with certain candidates.

"Growth in number of legitimate followers or a high recurrence of retweets are both indicative of growing grass-roots support," the Post notes. "A spike in the number of times a candidate is mentioned on Twitter might signal an event that could alter a campaign."

How can the reader see whether a candidates is experiencing a surge of support? There's a toolbar on its campaign coverage page to show "scores" for each candidate, with each score representing the number of times that candidate was mentioned on Twitter in the past week.

One can also go in depth on a specific candidate, looking at the progression of mentions over different time periods. And what good would it be without the ability to compare candidates?

This is not the first time the Post has put some of its eggs in the social media basket. It launched the "Social Reader" for the revamped Facebook, enabling users to read their post stories from their profile rather than having to hop over to the Post's site.

With its parent company coming off a ghastly fiscal year and an "uneasy" newsroom, these forward-looking measures have to help, right?

At the very least, they could signal progress. With eight out of the top 10 most followed on Twitter being women, the era of a female president may be just around the corner.

Colbert plays rock star, with Jack White as guide (AP)

NEW YORK – With Jack White as his guide, Stephen Colbert is living out his rock star dreams.

Colbert debuted his new single, "Charlene II (I'm Over You)" on "The Colbert Report" on Thursday night. Then, he took the song to the streets Friday, performing it again and signing copies for Colbert Nation groupies.

The song culminated Colbert's week-long "rock odyssey" series dubbed "Dr. Pepper Presents StePhest ColbChella `011 — Rock You Like a Thirst-Icane."

After premiering the tune on his show, Colbert and White sold copies Friday in Manhattan from the "rolling record store" of White's Nashville-based Third Man Records — a truck that travels the country selling the label's music.

The former White Stripe frontman produced the track, with The Black Belles, a goth girl rock band on Third Man, performing backup.

The reference of the song is one only die-hard viewers of "The Report" likely grasp. It's a follow-up to his mock `80s new wave song, "Charlene (I'm Right Behind You)," a cheesy ballad sung from the perspective of a stalker.

Since 2006, Colbert has occasionally alluded to the song and suggested that before his conservative pundit character became a TV show host, he was the lead singer in a group called Stephen and the Colberts.

But the sequel, "Charlene II (I'm Over You)," has entered the real world. The song is being sold on iTunes and from Third Man Records, including on vinyl copies. There's even a limited edition red-white-and-blue edition, with the vinyl dyed in the colors of the flag.

This is White's second collaboration with a late-night talk show host. Last year, he released a live rockabilly album with Conan O'Brien. White has been present in various segments all week on "The Report," playing a remarkably good straight man to Colbert.

Colbert, in turn, has taken every chance to remind his rock mentor that he's a Grammy winner. Colbert's "A Colbert Christmas" won best comedy album in 2010.

But this is far from the comedian's first foray into musical performance. Among his greatest hits are a performance of "Empire State of Mind" with Alicia Keys, a "shred-off" with the Decemberists and a rendition of Rebecca Black's "Friday."
